Background
The Citizens Network for Community Development Zambia (CNCD-Zambia) was established to address the growing need for youth and community participation in shaping Zambia’s social, economic, and environmental future. In the face of challenges such as climate change, inequality, and limited civic engagement, CNCD-Zambia provides a platform where citizens, particularly young people and women, can unite to demand accountability, promote sustainable solutions, and contribute meaningfully to national and global development agendas.

Mission
Just as the name states, the organization is a Citizens Network for Community development. Our mission is to push for development of the community be solving the challenges affecting the society today. We aim to shift the mindset of young people towards pressuring and demanding for positive social change and being involved in solution provision.
Our mission is to build strategy partnerships foster knowledge sharing to advocate for inclusive climate narratives, policies and solutions.
To advocate the active involvement of young people in solving community challenges such as abuse, climate change, early marriages, development deficiency
- To encourage young people and women to demand and participate in demonstration and creating awareness through community sensitization.
- To stimulate the active involvement in innovative ideas of young people on the mitigation and adaptation of climate change and integrate them into education materials for sustainable.
- Undertake community development projects.
- Mobilizing the community in holding leaders accountable for various commitments

Governance & Structure
CNCD-Zambia operates under a participatory and inclusive governance model, ensuring representation of young people and women in decision-making. The organization is led by an Executive Director, supported by an Executive Team, volunteers, community facilitators, and a network of youth leaders across Zambia.
